What this label discloses #

"Guarantees 50 billion live probiotic cultures through the date of expiration." Storage: "Can be stored at room temperature or refrigerated… No refrigeration needed" — an at-expiry guarantee not conditioned on a consumer cold chain, which is the stronger form of the claim.

How many of its strains have a human trial for what it is sold for #

Across the frozen founding cohort, 0 of 294 organism slots (0.0%) carry an organism with a human randomised controlled trial for any male-specific outcome. Not for this product — for all 27 of the founding teardowns, taken together. That is the number to hold against any men’s probiotic, including this one.

Two further founding-cohort figures for context: only 43 of 294 organism slots carry a strain with any human RCT at all under the exact code printed on the label, and only 2 of 27 products have a published human trial of the finished formula — the thing actually in the bottle. All three figures divide by the frozen cohort of 27 teardowns and 294 organism slots, never by every teardown on this site.

A word on what a designator has to clear before it counts here. The organism must be named with the exact strain code that appears in the trial, the trial must be in humans, and the code must return that trial when a reader searches it. For context, the median verified cost across the frozen founding cohort is $1.52 a day — about $553 a year. The two figures come off one median: 24 priced products give an even count, so the median is the mean of the two middle ones, $1.515 a day. The daily figure is that rounded to the cent; the annual figure is $1.515 × 365 = $ 552.975, rounded to the dollar. Annualising the rounded $1.52 instead gives $ 554.80, which is why the rule is printed rather than left for you to guess at.

In eight of the fourteen the sex-specific differentiator is a botanical or a mineral, and in five of the fourteen the women’s SKU is better-specified, cheaper, or both — “better-specified” meaning the panel that discloses more, never the panel with more in it. GFCO (Gluten-Free Certification Organization) status

Label seal, verbatim from the DSLD transcription: "Certfied Gluten Free GFCO.org" — the misspelling is on the transcribed label. The register loads but its table is JS-rendered and empty to a fetcher, and GFCO's own page states "This list is in process and does not contain all approved manufacturers", so absence there proves nothing. Note also the scope: this certifies gluten absence, not CFU count, strain identity or potency.

Non-GMO Project Verified status

Label seal, verbatim: "Non GMO Project Verified nongmoproject.org". Every register path tried — /find-verified-products/, /find-by-product/, /find-a-product/, /find-verified/, /verified-products/ and a wp-json search — returned 404 or Cloudflare 403. Certifies GMO absence, not probiotic content.

NSF/ANSI 455-2 Good Manufacturing Practices status

Brand page claims "Our facilities are certified by NSF/ANSI 455-2 Good Manufacturing Practices for dietary supplements" and "We were among the first to earn a third-party GMP certificate from NSF", plus "ISO Certified". No public register for 455-2 was reachable — /Certified/GMP4552/ returns 404 and nsf.org returns Cloudflare 403. The NSF GMP register that is public covers NSF/ANSI 173 Section 8 and does not list Nature's Way. Recorded as brand-asserted and unverified, explicitly not "does not hold it". This certifies facility process, not contents.

How the 50 billion CFU is split across the ten organisms

The printed Supplement Facts panel carries no per-strain and no per-blend CFU at all — DSLD confirms both nested blends at quantity NP, "not provided". A 36-billion Lactobacilli subtotal appears in web copy; the Bifidobacteria subtotal appears nowhere, and is only implied at 14 billion by subtraction. So a reader cannot tell whether any of these strains is present at its studied dose.

Why the label says eleven strains when ten designators are printed

The page and the DSLD label both say "11 diverse probiotic strains" while only 10 designators appear. The eleventh looks like an artefact of the dual-species entry "Bifidobacterium bifidum/lactis Bb-02" being counted twice, but that is an appearance rather than a confirmed explanation.

GFCO's register is incomplete by its own admission, the Non-GMO Project's register is Cloudflare-blocked on every path tried, and no public register for NSF/ANSI 455-2 was reachable. All three are recorded as brand-asserted and unverified — explicitly not as "does not hold it".
